Bio

Tawanda “Lady T” Phillips is a mother, mentor, licensed beauty educator, and the founder of B.U. Outreach for Women—a nonprofit dedicated to helping women boldly walk in their identity and purpose.

Raised in hard circumstances and living on her own by the age of 15, Lady T became a teen mom, survived the streets, battled shame, and lived through struggles most only whisper about. But her story didn’t end there. Through faith, resilience, and transformation, she became a generational curse-breaker, turning her pain into purpose.

As a cosmetology instructor, Lady T witnessed firsthand how many young women were forced to put their dreams on hold due to finances, lack of childcare, or lack of support. She saw their potential—and decided to do something about it. That’s when B.U. Outreach for Women was born.

Through mentorship, workshops, spiritual encouragement, and hands-on support, Lady T is committed to helping women and young girls break cycles, rediscover their worth, and walk boldly into the life they were created for—bold, uncovered, and unapologetically themselves.

Whether she’s teaching in the classroom, speaking truth online, or praying with a woman behind closed doors, Lady T’s message is clear:

You are not broken. You’re becoming. And it’s time to B.U.

B.U. Outreach for Women empowers women and young girls to heal, rise, and become who they were born to be—bold, authentic, and rooted in love.

We meet them where they are—offering mentorship, encouragement, resources, and real support in schools, shelters, and communities, block by block.

                                                                    Purpose

B.U. Outreach for Women exists to help women and young girls uncover their identity, heal from the inside out, and rise—bold, authentic, and free.

We serve those who’ve been overlooked, stuck, or silenced—offering mentorship, resources, and encouragement rooted in love. Through hands-on support and deep community involvement, we walk with women as they grow, rebuild, and become who they were always meant to be.

From classrooms to shelters, and block by block—we bring hope, healing, and real change to the heart of the community.

We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.

Our Mission

Mission Statement – B.U. Outreach for Women

B.U. Outreach for Women is on a mission to help women and young girls uncover their true identity, walk in healing, and rise boldly into their purpose—without shame, fear, or apology.

We support women from all walks of life—those who had to pause their dreams because of children, finances, or lack of support… women who are trying to start a business but don’t know how… and daughters who don’t know their worth because life told them otherwise.

Through mentorship, spiritual encouragement, practical resources, and empowerment programs, we help women become who they were always meant to be—bold, uncovered, and unapologetically themselves.

And we don’t stop there—we reach into the heart of our communities, offering hope, support, and hands-on help that creates real change. Whether it’s one-on-one or block by block, we’re committed to making a difference and being the light right where it’s needed most.
